Inflation Party - Happy Thanksgiving!

Every year, the Upper West Side plays host to New York's Thanksgiving tradition with "inflation parties". Any excuse for a celebration, right? A few streets near are blocked off and you can get up close and personal with your favorite cartoon characters as they get filled with helium for the big parade. Onlookers and handlers are dwarfed by their size, and it's a lot of fun no matter what your age.

  1. This post is so great - I die! I've been the balloon inflation several times but none of my photos are as good as yours! This is absolutely one of my favorite things to do in the city for the holidays. (And you've captured almost all of my favorite balloons! You're only missing Super Grover and Flying Ace Snoopy.)
